[cli_wallet] no way to tell where I'm connected to
While I can easily see the IP of the node that I'm connecting while executing cli_wallet
:
Logging RPC to file: logs/rpc/rpc.log
1931729ms main.cpp:187 main ] wdata.ws_server: ws://seed.fake.openhive.network:8090
I can't check that later on
(no, command line isn't enough, as cli_wallet can use non-default node implicitly which is stored in wallet configuration file)
Also, it's not only about the hostname / IP, but also a type of the node, which gets more important nowadays because aside of a mainnet, we are using mirrornet (a.k.a. fakenet) and a testnet.
While there's relatively easy to tell that we are connected to testnet because assets returned by info
are TESTS/TBD, it's not that trivial to distinguish mainnet from fakenet.
Please note that chain-id
difference will be observed only when user will try to broadcast transaction (which will be stopped by tapos)
